Rachel Abraham is "like every other seven-year-old in the world," said her father Stephen, a federal government employee. "She goes to school like every other seven-year-old. The real difference comes at recess when the other seven-year-olds run out to the playground and she just can't do that."

Rachel was diagnosed at birth with a rare and life threatening condition called Pulmonary Hypertension (PH), literally high blood pressure in the artery that brings blood to the lungs. Thanks to the development of treatments for PH in the past decade, Rachel leads a pretty full life, albeit with invasive treatment. She often asks her parents why she has to be different from the other kids.
